Introduction
This privacy policy informs you, pursuant to Art. 13 GDPR, about the processing of personal data in connection with the website compas-bh.com. The website is operated by Compas Bilanzbuchhaltungskanzlei GmbH (hereinafter "we", "us" or "our").
Personal data is any information relating to an identified or identifiable person (e.g. name, address, email address). We process such data exclusively within the limits of the law.
Third-party offerings linked from this website are not subject to this privacy policy. If you have questions about data protection, you can reach us at any time using the contact details below.
Server log files during informational use
When you use the website purely for information – i.e. when you do not actively transmit any data to us – we collect only the data that your browser technically transmits to our server and that is necessary for display, stability and security: IP address, date and time of the request, the page accessed, the HTTP status code, the amount of data transferred, the previously visited page (referrer), as well as your browser, operating system and language setting.
The legal basis is our legitimate interest in operating the website securely and reliably (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). These log data are processed only to provide the website and are deleted after a short time. Our website runs with a specialised hosting provider that processes the data exclusively on our behalf (processing on behalf pursuant to Art. 28 GDPR); this may involve a transfer to the USA on the basis of appropriate safeguards (EU Standard Contractual Clauses or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework).
Contact (email & contact form)
If you contact us via the contact form or by email, we process the data you provide – usually your name, email address, telephone number where applicable, the selected subject and the content of your message – in order to handle and respond to your inquiry.
The legal basis is the initiation or performance of a (pre-)contractual relationship or our legitimate interest in responding to your inquiry (Art. 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR). We delete this data as soon as it is no longer required for processing, unless statutory retention obligations apply.
Cookies and local storage
Our website does not use any tracking or analytics cookies and no web beacons. Technically necessary is only local storage in your browser, which saves your cookie choice and your language preference so that the website works and your settings are retained.
On your first visit, our cookie notice lets you decide for yourself which categories to allow. Optional categories (statistics, marketing, external media) are disabled by default and only become active after your explicit consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR in conjunction with § 165(3) of the Austrian Telecommunications Act 2021). You can change or withdraw your choice at any time via the "Cookie settings" link in the footer.
Integration of Google Maps
To show our location we embed the Google Maps service provided by Google Ireland Limited (Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland). The map is only loaded after you have consented to the "external media" category – without consent, no data is transmitted to Google.
When the map loads, your IP address is transmitted to Google; this may involve processing in the USA (safeguarded via the EU-US Data Privacy Framework). The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you may withdraw at any time with effect for the future. For details see Google's privacy policy at policies.google.com/privacy.
Job applications
If you send us an application – for example by email – we process your application data and documents solely for the purpose of conducting the application procedure (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). With your consent we additionally store your documents in order to contact you about suitable future positions; you can withdraw this consent at any time.
Without your consent we do not pass your data on to third parties. If no employment relationship results, we delete your application documents after the statutory periods have expired. All employees are obliged to maintain data secrecy pursuant to § 6 of the Austrian Data Protection Act (DSG).
Your rights
If you would like to exercise any of your rights or have questions about data protection, an informal message to us is sufficient – for example by email to [email protected].
Under the GDPR you have the right to access (Art. 15), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18), data portability (Art. 20) and a right to object (Art. 21). Where processing is based on your consent, you may withdraw it at any time with effect for the future, without affecting the lawfulness of processing carried out before withdrawal.
Data security
We take appropriate technical and organisational measures in line with the current state of the art to protect your data against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. Data transmission on our website is encrypted via HTTPS (TLS).
Protection of minors
This website is not aimed at minors and is not designed to collect data from minors.
Changes to this privacy policy
We adapt this privacy policy when the legal situation or our processing activities change. The date of the last update can be found at the top of this page. We recommend reviewing the policy from time to time.
